Weight loss motivation from your employer?
A study of 200 college employees showed that the larger the financial incentive to lose weight, the more weight the employee lost on average.
Participants were given either no money, or 7 dollars for every percent of weight loss or 14 dollars for every percent of weight loss. This study was done over the course of 3 months. The group that got no money averaged a 2lb weight loss, the group that got 7 dollars per percentage point of weight loss averaged a 3lb loss, and the 14 dollar group lost 5lbs.
If you think about it, that's not really a lot of money, and weight loss motiviation like this could pay itself off in the form of less employee absenteeism and health risks.
