Trans Fat May Increase Infertility Risk In Women

Toronto (eCanadaNow) - A new study suggests that oils used to cook foods such as chips (french fries) may increase the risk of a woman becoming infertile.
In a study of more that 18,000 women, researchers found that trans fats can reduce a woman’s chance of becoming pregnant by as much as 70 percent, reported the BBC.
Researchers say the fats - which are found mostly in processed vegetable oils - interfere with body cells that play a vital role in ovulation.
The findings showed as little as 4g of trans fats a day could negatively effect fertility.
Many Places, including New York City have moved to ban trans fat in restaurants.
The study is published in the America Journal of Clinical Nutrition

70%!?!?!?!?!?! That is huge! I wonder if we are talking about just getting pregnant or if there are any birth defects involved?
