Eating a low fat diet for 8 years in a row appeared to cut ovarian cancer risk by 40%. This study was published in the Journal of National Cancer Institute. The study was done on women aged 50-79, and tested tens of thousands.
The thinking behind this drop is that a reduction in fat consumption decreases the amount of estrogen the bloodstream. Too much fat could overstimulate them. Low and behold, the low fat eaters in the study had a 15% drop in one of the types of estrogen known as estradiol.
