26 May 2006
Suntory made a presentation on its recent research with Kyoto University at the 60th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Nutrition and Food Science.
The two partners have been conducting research on a calorie-controlled diet, which is low in calories but supplies adequate amounts of proteins and major vitamins and minerals.
According to the presentation, a 4-week intake of a calorie-controlled diet, in which subjects have a meal once a day, substantially reduces weight, body fat ratio and the waist and hip size. Further, it promotes fat burning.
The two partners have concluded that the regular intake of a calorie-controlled diet is effective in weight control.
