| zylene side effects?
This is my first posting into the forum, so I will apologize in advance if I am posting in the wrong place or the wrong way. I've read a lot of positive feedback about zylene, but I'm wondering if this so-called miracle diet pill has any negative side effects?

I'd never even heard about it. So I googled for it, and one of the first links was a thread here at OD. Zylene
Looks like it may be worth checking out, but note that one person with high blood pressure reported side effects: "I feel awful, nervous, agitated and dizzy"
Another thread here seems to indicate that they've changed the "recipe" for the supplement several times without changing the name of the product and that current formulations may not be as effective as the original. If you really want to know about zylene, please advise. Edit: Ordered a bottle a few minutes ago. We'll see how it does.

See, all I've been able to dig up about it is the chromium content. People should not ingest more than 200 mcgs of chromium a day. One Zylene pill at 523 mgs contains 100 mcgs of chromium, and my daily multivitamin contains 120 mcgs, which makes me slightly nervous because longterm sustained use/overdose of chromium has occasionally shown to cause all kinds of nasty problems in the body. But I'm wondering more along the lines of the immediate possible results...acid reflux, constipation, headaches, nausaeu, dizziness, muscle aches, anxiety...you know, the normal cornucopia of your typical medication. As per those possibilities, or any other kind of possible drug reaction, I've yet to find anything with any solid information that isn't related to marketing.

I generally roll my eyes when I see the funny marketing names that people concoct.
You know the ones, starting with Xe or Z, so they sound "Powerful" or the ones that take some pleasant adjective or adverb and add "-ol", "-zite", or "-anium" to somehow infuse that additive or supplement with the ability to bring the named pleasant effect to your life (as a matter full disclosure, I must reveal that I currently have patents pending for "Happyol", "Shinynewcarzite", and "Successfulmarriageanium").
So yeah, Zylene fits the bill for snake oil to a capital "Z", what with "Zylenium" and "Rejuvol" being the "patent pending" components, but I figured I'd give it a try.

I think I'd like to place my order with you then for a bottle of your Shinynewcarzite please. I am currently taking a very expensive prescription, Xendeadenginol, and am finding the side effects of it to be quite unfortunate--lack of mobility, social paralysis, and lethargy. Of course, the ramifications of that being upping my at-home time with nothing better to do than exercise while watching the History channel, maybe Xendeadenginol actually negates the need for Zylene...

<grin> I might need to take some of my own medicine soon. My own car has been in the shop for the last two days.
Still, it's been a good vehicle, and really it's my own fault for fixing something that "might" cause a problem, but hadn't yet done so. The first visit for the supposed issue cost me $1200, this one, who knows?
Sometimes the "cure" is worse than the disease.
I'll let you know how the Zylene works for me.

I just don't think diet pills in general are a good idea. They may give you a little boost in your diet and exercise program, but they are not FDA approved and you never know if down the road they'll be shown to be unsafe or have terrible side effects.
Just a little example, St John's Wort was a natural herbal antidepressant that a lot of people loved, and it may have done a good job. BUT because it was never tested it wasn't known what interactions it had with other medications. It turns out St John's Wort counteracts birth control pills! Many, many women had unplanned pregnancies due to this, which is one heck of a side effect! And even though I love Tea Tree Oil as a disinfectant and use it on blemishes with great results, my husband won't touch the stuff because it has now been linked to causing breast tissue growth in males!
The bottom line is, just because something is herbal doesn't mean it's not a real medication that you should take seriously and that might have problems down the road. I don't know why anyone would take more medications on a regular basis than they absolutely have to!

I'm not on birth control pills, but I'm hoping in earnest the Zylene won't get me pregnant. That would definitely be working against the original goal of reducing my weight.
I get your point, Monique. I'm willing to give it a go because I've had good luck with thermogenics in the past, and I'm always interested in ways to make my time / effort more productive.

Dude, you've lost almost a hundred pounds in 5 months! How much more productive do you want your weight loss efforts to be?!
I think you're doing pretty fabulous already!

<grin> I guess I am asking a bit of my body, huh?
Oh well. Trigger's already been pulled, my package shipped this morning.
We'll see what I do. Even I don't use it myself, hopefully someone will benefit from my purchase.

My package arrived around 3pm. Took my first pill an hour ago.
Looks like I can fit one in the middle section of my Alli pill holder.
