Sometimes you can get medications unavailable in the UK by special order, but not everything is available this way. Your GP could also run into serious liability issues if they are prescribing a withdrawn medication for you off-license.
Just realize that you don't actually need this pill to lose weight and since you're in a country where healthcare is free (relatively speaking), you have access to help and support that many Americans don't have or cannot afford. Take advantage of it. Many GP surgeries have a specific nurse devoted solely to helping patients lose weight, and I've even heard of GPs writing prescriptions for gym memberships and those memberships being subsidized by the NHS. Can't hurt to ask.

You may feel abandoned, but if this saved you from one of the non-fatal heart attacks that appears to be a side affect of the drug, then I don't think you'd feel that way.
Diet pills aren't a permanent fix for weight loss, and once you lost the weight you wanted to lose, the doctor would have stopped the pills, and you would have had to change your eating habits anyway to keep that weight off. So my question for you is, why not start now (with the eating habits change without pills) and see where that takes ya? Diet pills are meant to supplement healthy eating and exercise, so you must be doing something right already to have lost the weight you have.

i have followed an healthy plan with excercise, this pill was keeping my metabolism up and stopped me feeling hungry and picking in between meals.obviously i dont want to continue if there are serious health risks.i wanted to know if there was a safer alternative.we all know diets dont work because your metabolism slows downs when you cut down so all the hard work doesn,t always pay off ,if like me your metabolism is in a coma.orlistat do anything because i already follow a low fat diet.i dont do junk food at all.i,m now on the wii fit route so we,ll see where this takes me,i dont have timefor the gym with a 22monthold boy and a job.both of these keep me on my feet allday 2 |

You might find that you'll continue losing weight now that you've started and your lifestyle has changed...you may need to stay vigilant about what you consume.
You don't need to join a gym - lots of ways to keep your activity level up - you just have to make a dedicated effort to do so. The worst part of being at home is that you feel you can always put off doing something until 'later'...and then the later never comes...that was my problem when I was home with the kids. But you really can't use them as an excuse to not keep active...

Hi, Andrea. Welcome to OD. I hope you can find a plan that will work for you to keep you on track. I think everyone above has given you some great pointers and a head start in that direction.

I remember when I lived there I would park myself on the couch in front of the radiator from about November to April.

A gym is a good suggestion...but it's hard to go with little kids...and if money is tight it's hard to afford the gym and a sitter...
You don't need a lot of space to work out...last night at the MMA gym (my son is taking a trial lesson set) they worked out of a 4' X 4' square (on the mats)...and they sure worked up a sweat! Same with an aerobics routine...or the Wii...even most of the stuff I do at dance class can be done using very little space...

Mine does, and my gym in the UK did too.
But you're right, you don't need a lot of space to work out; just push the living room furniture to the walls, roll up the area rug, and you're good to go. That's how I worked out yesterday.
