(PRLog.Org) – Obesity and overweight are silent killers, which create conducive environment for health related risk factors such as diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, coronary heart failure, gout amid others. One of the most preferred medications employed to treat obesity and overweight along with risk related, is Phentermine.
Mr. David Walter, marketing head of Online Phentermine comments, “Phentermine is a FDA endorsed appetite suppressant which is helpful in weight loss for the obese and overweight individuals. FDA endorsement establishes ground for its reliability and efficacy. It provides a benchmark for its efficacy to knockout obesity and overweight”. This medication received FDA approval for use in the year 1959, and since then there is no looking back. Most doctors worldwide prescribe this weight medication for effective weight loss.
Phentermine tablets are accessible in the strength of 15mg, 30mg and 37.5mg. Dosage of this medication is determined by a doctor in consideration of your health conditions and body requirement. On no account, should the prescribed dose be exceeded or decreased.
Dose of this weight loss medication, ought to be combined with a low-calorie diet plan and regular workout regime in order to fetch effectual weight loss results.
Something to consider for those of you looking for a SUPPLEMENT TO YOUR HEALTHY EATING AND EXERCISE REGIMINE, THIS IS NOT AN END ALL MAGIC DIET PILL.

Re: Phentermine diet pill for obesity has FDA endorsement
That's some good news if you ask me. It seems a lot of the diet/appetite suppresant out there have not been evaluated by the FDA. Granted, most of those are over-the-counter pills, but still.

It would be nice to see more FDA approved diet pills on the market that is for sure. I hope this goes through.

Re: Phentermine diet pill for obesity has FDA endorsement
i have a feeling like many diet pills, people will hope that this is a do it all, all in one type of thing where they take it without eating good and exercising and hope to see sizeable weight loss. once the word FDA approved is used in the marketing of this people people will go nuts.

Re: Phentermine diet pill for obesity has FDA endorsement
As a pharmacy employee I have noticed that most insurance companies are not covering this drug. It makes no sense to me. I'd much rather cover a drug that will help somebody become healthier, rather than cover something much worse. At our pharmacy this drug runs $27.46 for a 1 month supply, which is affordable. However, I don't think this drug is for me.

Just curious is there any reason why they are not covering it?

Re: Phentermine diet pill for obesity has FDA endorsement
I'm still trying to figure out why they won't cover it. Same for the birth control pills, most insurance companies won't cover them, yet they cover the birth of a baby. Is it just me or does this just not make any sense??

Maybe they think there could be some liability involved or that these aren't "mandatory" necesities from a medical perspective.

Maybe because once you are pregnant they figure having a baby is a necesity like OD said, but birth control and diet pills aren't? What kills me is that if diet pills do their job, they in theory should help people lose weight which would save insurance companies a ton of money in the long run with cardiovascular disease, cancer, etc.

I am sure at the end of the day it all comes down to money right? Maybe they would have to raise their rates so much to cover birth control and diet pills that they feel that a lot of people would drop their coverage, and then they would lose money.

Doesn't everything come down to money at the end of the day?

Perhaps it is low profit margin to the companies. Don't insurance companies get incentives from the pharmaceutical companies?

Re: Phentermine diet pill for obesity has FDA endorsement
I have taking phentermine since Jan 8, 2009 and I can tell you it does work. It gives you energy and curbs the appetite. I also take byetta for my diabetes now. I just start that one in March.

Re: Phentermine diet pill for obesity has FDA endorsement
Several years ago, I used Phentermine to lose weight. I lost 30 pounds in 33 days. In addition to it suppressing my appetite, it also made me pretty darned happy and I noticed a became a lot nicer, too. I was much more energetic than usual. Once I stopped taking it (was causing heart palpitations), I went back to my old habits. Sadly, I gained all the weight back. I'm sure it's because I did not change my food choices, but instead had just eaten a lot less because of the medication. I recently asked my doctor about trying it again. He didn't know I had taken it previously (I had gone with my friends to a "diet doctor") and told me he would never prescribe that ... said it's just speed. Personally, due to the palpitations, I would probably be too scared to try it again, anyway, but I'm actually doing okay without it.

Re: Phentermine diet pill for obesity has FDA endorsement
SplashMom, heart palpitations sounds pretty scary! I'm sure you're doing things healthier this time, and you're only 50 pounds from your goal, you just have to do what you did the last six weeks a couple more times and you're done!
I think the problem with diet pills is that in order to lose weight you still have to eat less and exercise more, plus you get side effects. If you can do it with willpower it's healthier in the end. It's kind of the same thing for the weight loss surgeries. I know it's easier to consume less calories if you physically CANT fit as much food in your stomach, but in the end you're still the one doing the work, so why not do it on your own and avoid all the digestive trouble and surgery risks?
I see a lot of people here meeting their fitness goals just by living healthy and I think it's great! It's going to take me a while but I want to do it too!
