has anyone tried the diet pill tenuate, I went to a bariatric clinic for weight loss, these pills are great. I have lost a total of 25pds in three mts. Starting weight was 234 now down to 209, yes i have alot to loose, but now I seem to be trying harder than before.

Re: diet pills
I haven't heard of that diet pill before, where did you hear about it? How long have you been taking it?
I have been taking proactol a few months now and it is going really well, it works as a fat binder and is 100% natural. I take the slimming pills after meals and I have designed an exercise regime which I am building on.
Have you tried proactol or heard anything about it?

Re: diet pills
no i have not heard of proactol, but the tenuate is prescribed by a Dr. if you look it up on the internet it also comes in generic form, When i take it, i drink water and it really curbs my cravings for food and acts as a fluid pill. So far they are working great. Years ago i tried adapex and really had no success. This time I am really trying.

Re: diet pills
everyone, is there any side efects with the diet pills (tenuate/proactol). i take atypical antipsychotis, and antihistamine. do you think the diet pills would interact? good job with your weight loss.

Re: diet pills
I am really not sure, but i take prozac and some over the counter meds. I have never had an interaction with anything I have taken. But you can look on the web. I can enter meds I am taking on my insurance web site and it will tell me if any meds I take may interact. Hope this helps, but so far the tenuate has worked great, it curbs your cravings for food, and when you do eat, it helps you to feel fuller quicker, thus causing you to not over eat.

Re: diet pills
It would depend on the type of diet pill. Appetite suppresants like tenuate would be a no no as they are also a brain stimulant. xxx

Re: diet pills
i heard the effectiveness of diet pills does not last very long. tht they will gradually work less and less. but, doctors do prescribe diet pill with anti depressants. i got to get something so i will not feel so hungry all the time. so, i think i'll ask my doctor.

Re: diet pills
If it's just anti-depressants they may be ok - I was given one a few years ago when on anti - depressants and I was fine, but for anti-psychotics I don't think they would be very good because they make the brain more active - their effects are similar to that of taking amphetamines hence not feeling hungry and not being able to sleep xxx

Re: diet pills
Yes I have made alot of changes, I know diet pills are never the complete answer for weight loss, but all of us that are over weight need something to help us get started because if you are like me I have been on every diet out there, and if I really try and don't lose the weight I get discouraged and go back to my old habbits. This time while on the tenuate I am dr. supervised, and If I don't continue to lose, I will not be able to continue on the meds. I have cut my calories to 1200 a day, eating only healthy low fat and low sodium foods. This is the first time the weight is actullly comming off, and I havn't given up, after 4mts. Normally I last only a month or so, because I get discouraged. I am also walking one mile 4 days a week.

Re: diet pills
Previously I have tried every diet going, diet pills, extreme solutions the lot, but it was only when I gave up on all of that and just chose to eat healthily and exercise more that it really worked for me and has stayed off xxx

Re: diet pills
Me too, I don't think there is a diet out there I have not tried. But, like you this time is the right time. I am trying a Bariatric clinic, even though some people say that pills are not the answer. But, my doc has perscribed a pill for short term use. He has explained that I need to teach myself how to eat better, and exercise. I have been over weight for quite sometime, and as you know the weight did not come on overnight, and it will definately not go away that way, so I need all the help I can get.

Re: diet pills
i count cals. right now. it seems to be working for me. i ate between 1200-1550 cals. a day. i got to try to stay away from the bread, that seem to be my down fall. i was thinking of asking my Dr. about diet pills the next time i went for my appointment.

Re: diet pills
I have never heard of the Proactol. I am taking Ally. I am motivated when I see results and Ally has given that to me. I have done much more than just Ally though. My calorie intake is around 1200. Some days are as low as 800 and some as high as 1500. I work out every day--4 miles or so of fast walking with running bursts. I have lost 40 pounds in four months doing the aforementioned. I still have 12-15 pounds that have to come off to put me in the "normal" range. I don't know if it will be enough though.
I don't think pills are the answer but they can certainly be a tool along the way for some people.

Re: diet pills
..I just read up on Proactol...it is just two types of fiber--soluable and non-soluable....I think the same can be accomplished eating high-fiber foods or taking Metamucil before your meals...if I am missing something with it, please let me know..
