| Alli treatment effects?
Does anyone know if the yucky Alli treatment effects still happen if you stay within the recommended dietary fat level? I'm trying to overcome my compulsive overeating, and I'm thinking Alli might be a good deterrent.

I've not heard of Alli before but it sounds similar to a drug we have in the UK called Xenical. I think you still get some degree of side effects but obviously you cannot cheat on it as you will only have more nasty side effects! Blocking fat is ok, but really you need to cut down on carbs and burn off more energy each day to achieve realistic and long lasting weightloss xxx

Alli is over-the-counter Xenical: same drug. And as you said, Twinkle, you need to cut out CARBS more so than fats. You can't eat 3 donuts and pop a Xenical/Alli and make it go away. It's not the fat in the donut that makes you fat, it's the sugar and refined flour.

Yes it's over the counter Xenical, just a smaller dose of it. The treatment affects will still be there, though you may see less of them.

The Alli diet plan book (the big one) is at Dollar Tree stores across the country right now. Even if you aren't on Alli, there is some wonderful advice inside along with some rockin' recipes. Alli works in a couple of ways and it's not as cut and dry as Zero represents. As to the effects, if you stay within plan, you won't experience them or I would say very rarely. Alli will give you a bit of an edge on weight loss if you are eating clean and moving more.

It seems like Alli is more or less a way to punish you for eating bad (grease trail out your back-side), so in order to avoid a disgusting mess, you are forced to carefully monitor what goes into your mouth. I think *that* is what causes the weight loss!

It's just gross. I've been taking Phentermine with great success and no grease trail!!!

Okay, I've heard of the whol Alli results about loose stools if you overeat, I don't think I can bring myself to be that careful when dieting. My family started to consider using Alli, but I am the one to object to it. Great if its working for your family and friends but I can do that. We'll have our slip from time to time, but I suppose it does help given that you must stick with the instructions not to eat more than you are supposed to.

Theres been quite a lot of negative press about these products recently (especially in the uk) - check out the PR from the ITN website.
Have you considered something like Proactol that doesn't have any side effects?

Do not Go on Alli unless you are ready to commit!!
This is not just a quick fix diet.
It requires lots of time and commitment.
When I first started this diet last year. I used it as a way to eat whatever I want.. I thought hey its blocking out the fat! but I was wrong. Treatment effects are nasty and its not something that one should have to experiance.. I quit
I decided To give it another try and Its working great! I have styayed with in my allowed fat grams and calories. Definatly showing results.. If you are interested in this diet I suggest one start a low calorie diet a week before they start the pills just to make sure that its something one can do if not it will be a waste to buy the pills which are pricey...
Just a head up if you buy the 120pill pack it comes with the booklet too so you wont have to get the starter
Oh and the book is AWSOME!! shoot I wish I would have gotten it for dollar lol Melly

I might have an extra booklet Melly. Let me know if you still need/want one.
Alli worked well for me as well. I dropped 120+ pounds in <6 months with a combination of diet, exercise, and Alli.
And I didn't really mind the "treatment effects". Not as major as I'd envisioned, and definitely gave me immediate feedback if/when I'd eat too much fat.

Dance Dance Revolution was my drug of choice. .gif) 30-45 minutes a day for 3 or 4 days a week. Now that it's summertime, I'm hiking quite a bit instead.

I'm using Alli and I've only had the "treatment effect" once, after I had ate a taco the day before. Even though it was made with low fat ground turkey, it had too much grease. So no more tacos for me.
As long as I stay with low fat meals, I have no effects.
