Acai berry
I've read a couple articles in the internet about acai berry. According to the article(s) it's a fruit and is very healthy. I would like to know who has tried it and if it had worked. There's a product in CVS and I would like to try it, but not sure

I've never tried it, but I there's at least one thread that talks about it here at OD.

Re: Acai berry
I've tried acai berry and I think it really does work. However, you will notice better results if you diet while you take the acai supplement too.
I used to drink the juice, one ounce in a glass of water a day. Now I drink acai tea with no added sugar. It's just like regular tea bags, but it's acai berry, no caffeine. You can find it at any safeway-type store. I've really noticed a difference. And I've had no ill effects so far.

I think it's likely a great fruit - but like anything else, if it sounds too good to be true, it likely is. I wouldn't count on it for helping with weight loss...and there is quite a bit of research countering the claims as well...

I got some just to try it. It's really good but found it too expensive to be something in hour house often.

Re: Acai berry
We are always looking for a miracle cure for losing that weight, all the while that little voice in the back of our head keeps on saying
"Less food, better food, more exercise (lots more exercise for most of us)
That is why the diet industry is a multi-billion dollar business, selling us a quick fix.
I am not saying that fruits, anti-oxidants and supplements are bad as I firmly believe that many are fantastic and I use them often.
It's just that the sellers of many of these diet items always seem to prey on those hoping to lose weight and fill their heads with quick fix ideas.

Hi, Dozz. Welcome to the forums. And I totally agree with you. I wish there was a magic pill, like we all do. But the bottom line is you have to do the opposite of what you did to get to this point. It takes some of us a bit longer to wake up.

Re: Acai berry
I tried the acai berry juice, and found that yes, I lost a few pounds, but that was because it went straight through me. Sorry, TMI, I know. Another one of my get thin quick schemes was Hoodia lolly pops. Again, I lost a few pounds, but that's because they recommend drinking a glass of water before and after each lolly, and the lollies were huge, so having one of them in your mouth simply stops you from eating anything else, lol

Know what you mean, Sparkle. Try eating just Blueberries...same thing!
