| YAY!!! YAY!!! I got to make my hamburger move today. I'm so excited. After a week on the South Beach Diet I've lost 10lbs. Last time I lost that much in a week I was sick in the hospital and was 11. I guess cutting out the carbs and sugar made a bigger impact than I thought it would.

| Re: YAY!!! You lost 10lbs in one week? Wow, that's A LOT! I'm guessing a lot of that is water weight, but I hope that doesn't continue at that rate.
Congrats on a big first week!

| Re: YAY!!! yeah i'm sure you are right that it is water weight. I just started trying to lose weight a week ago. I changed my diet cut out all carbs and sugars for 2 weeks and am going to start adding carbs and fruit back into my diet in about another week. I'm just excited to have lost any weight. I know it is better to lose it slower and I dont expect to keep dropping big numbers. I'll be happy with 1-2 lbs a week. I dont want to just be skinny, I want to be healthy. What is weird is I'm actually eating more than I was before and I'm losing. Before I started this I would skip breakfast and eat lunch at 2:30 then a snack about 5:30 and that was it other than a couple of soda pops. I guess eating is kick starting my metabolism. But what ever it is I'm happy and so excited to be losing weight.

(Banana is the first thing I think of... ), the more muscle you have, more calories will be burned. And I think, at the first time, you don't lose any weight, even gain some ones. because the muscle's weight you gain is greater than the fat's weight you lose, but just keep on, in a long term, you will have a good metabolism and body composit. |

| Re: YAY!!! thanx everyone. this week i've lost another 4lbs. i'm so excited to be losing weight but am not looking forward to the week i dont lose or hitting plateaus but i'm sure it will happen i'll just have to work harder i've been trying to walk after work for at least 30 min i just hate staying at work that extra time because i get off work so late and then still have a 30 min drive home but i figure if i do it every night i work(4 nights a week) until i get my own tredmill that it will help alot with the weight loss
