The best carbs are your whole grain carbs, ideally that are high in dietary fiber, but at the same time, high glycemic carbs are great because they make you feel full longer (less desire to eat).

As far as protein, ideally at a minimum one gram per pound of lean body mass. Protein helps prevent muscle loss during weight loss, and is also imperative for building muscle. If you want I can help you figure out how much protein intake you should have per day.
that would great if you could do that

In order to figure out your protein intake, I am going to need to know your height, age and weight.

Based on your statistics you'll want to consume a good 110g of protein each day.

Remember, 1g of protein = 4 calories, so of all the calories you are budgeting for each day, 110g protein will equal 440 of those calories.

By calculating your lean body mass, and giving you a ratio of grams of protein to lean body mass lbs.
