Unhappy OOPS!

I just sat down and ate about 2 lbs. of Greek salad (that's alot of feta cheese, and olive oil) *sigh* - I'm not sure why I keep repeating these unhealthy habits of falling off the wagon and stuffing myself!

Re: OOPS!

Don't beat yourself up too bad. Can you slow down your eating a bit? Have you ever tried taking 20 bites per mouthful and taking a break in between each bite? Another good tip is to drink a glass of water before sitting down to eat. It's a good sign that you're upset with yourself and aren't content with being unhealthy.

Re: OOPS!

I tried slowing down my eating and it has worked before - I think I was just really stressed out last night. Getting upset with myself doesn't really help the situation. I think I need to change my habits in the evening - when the overeating tends to happen most. Instead of sitting in front of the tv, I'm going to try doing an evening walk to get out of the house

Re: OOPS!

Everyone faulters! Don't beat yourself up too much.

Just get back on the wagon right away! I have a bad habit of writing off the day after I give into temptation, and it always makes it 10 times worse!

You shouldn't worry to much about it. Acutally I would say that a greek salad isn't too bad. I also like to have this kind of salad when I am going out to a restaurant. Lettuce doesn't have to much calories and feta cheese...well as long as you don't eat it too often it is okay I would say. And olive oil is at least much better than all the other creamy dressings like French, Ranch or American. So you haven't been too bad :-)

Thanks to you all for your tips and encouragement - I guess we all have our moments, and the key is to not sabotage ourselves so that we totally give up the fight

Exactly!!! I tend to feed of my mistakes and use them as motivation to do better in the coming days! Remember this is a long term journey, so one mistake isn't going to make or break everything.
