need help coming up with a diet plan

I need a plan that will work for me, so I can stick with it.

I dont cook much, I dont enjoy cooking, I also just dont have time to slave over a stove, expecially when I only have myself to cook for (my BF works midnites, so he's asleep during most meal times, and my baby is still on the bottle). So something that requires little time/effort to prepare.

I currently weigh around 192.. I dont have a scale, so I dont know my exact weight, its been a few weeks since I was weighed. I want to get down to around 125 by September.

I dont have a big food budget either.. so things like "nutrisystem" are out.

I typically only eat 2 meals a day, ussually a meal in the afternoon and one late evening/when I get home from work. I dont typically eat breakfast... at most I might have a glass of milk with either a peice of fruit or yogurt, or a small bowl of cereal.. but I dont even normally have that much. Sometimes I also have a small snack, either on my break at work, or before bed. Meals ussually consist of fast food, frozen dinners (which are high in salt), ramen noodles, etc.

Im also a picky eater.. I also dont care for many things to be re-heated, so the idea of making myself larger portions that I can re-heat is out.

Foods I do like

Meat/protiens
Undercooked beef
Chicken
lamb, deer and bison (expensive and hard to get, but I do like them)
creamy peanut butter, on occasion

Veggies
Cooked.. broccoli w/cheese, cauliflour w/ cheese, peas w/cheese, spinache, brussel sprouts, corn w/ butter and salt
raw tomatoes (by themselves or on a sammich)
lettuce is also good on a sammich.. I also like pickles, even tho they have a lot of salt in them, but I dont like cucumbers.
in a salad I do like raw lettuce, carrots, spinache, radishes, and red cabbage, but the only dressing I like is ranch, and the salad must also have cheese in it
potatoes.. boil em, mash em, stick em in a stew!

fruits... I like almost all fruits.. I dont like coconut or grapefruit.. there's a few others I dont "care" for, but will eat.

Grains
Bread is only good for sammiches, otherwise, I dont care much for it
I do like pumpkin bread tho
spagetti, mac N' cheese, theres a few other pasta dishes I'll eat, but not many
some cereals, but Im not real crazy about cereal either.. I do like Oh's, Frosted wheats, frosted flakes, raisin bran crunch.

Dairy..
I like most dairy, milk, yogurt, cheese.. I dont like cottage cheese.

Re: need help coming up with a diet plan

I'm not sure what to tell you regarding cooking other than starting small with things that are easy to cook. Either way, eventually you will have to cook because your baby is going to grow out of bottles and will need nutritious food to grow up on I would suggest combining the foods you do like into a mini meal plan and calorie counting for awhile until you have a grasp on how many calories you are eating. You can use a free counter like fitday.com. That's the one I use and it has been very helpful. Try shooting for around 1400 - 1500 calories a day and you should start seeing results. There are online calculators to help you decide how many calories are right for you as well. Try to find ways to fit in some exercise if you can. I know life can be hectic with a baby in tow I hope someone else will give you more ideas too.

Re: need help coming up with a diet plan

Your diet doesn't look that bad. Cut out the butters and cheese dramatically - to 1 ounce a day. Cut back on the carbs - to 2 servings a day...and keep your total calorie count down - maybe try for 1400 like Amanda suggested and see what happens.

If you still want to eat the frozen dinners...and I do...cut back on your sodium intake elsewhere to prevent consuming too much. No need to cook with salt. You can always add it later if you really need to.

Up your activity level as well - take the baby for long strolls.

Shouldn't cost anything - might even save a bit if you eat a bit less.
