Question Midday Protein Ideas

Just wondering if you had any ideas for midday protein snacks. Im not really big into protein shakes, although every now and again its okay. But what are some ideas for midday snacks?

Thanks!

Protein bars, small serving of nuts, beef jerky, chickey jerky, ham/turkey slices with honey/chipotle/regular mustard and crackers, low fat cheese (string cheese, other low fat cheese slices), glass of skim milk, South Beach Diet Mini Pizzas or lunch meals.

Just curious what don't you like about protein shakes?

Re: Midday Protein Ideas

I despise cottage cheese and have in the past blended it to make it smooth with my favorite flavor of yogurt.

Anyway, i dont hate protein shakes. I just hate making them in the morning. I barely wake up in time for work let alone to make a shake

In fact, I love the shakes I have and I have creative low calorie ways of adding good flavors to them.

If you don't like taking the time to make the shakes, you can buy them pre-made in either grocery stores, health stores or online.

Re: Midday Protein Ideas

I pre-cook all of my meats and bag them so for the next few days, I have a bundent supply of quality protein foods.

For instance, I'll cut up 4 or 5 chicken breasts into bite size pieces, thrown them in a pan, cook them, weigh them out, and bag them.

Wala, instant snack. I actually use mine for a meal... but could certainly be a snack.

I do the same with steak, pork, etc.

I make too much of all my meats when I cook them and it makes it easy for leftovers. I lalso ove munching on ham, turkey, and roast beef, all lean and all from the deli. I'll sometimes eat them with whole wheat crackers and toss a variety of mustards on there.

I was going to add Edamame, Sushi (expensive but good), sunflower seeds, and celery with peanut butter.
