Frusterated! Why am I still eating at night?

Frusterated! Why am I still eating at night?

I notice i'm most hungry at night, I have been going to bed earlier then usual but still an apple with peanut butter or something before I go to bed is not healthy and I need to kick this bad habit.

Any tips or suggestions?

I already suggested in your other thread about chewing gum in the evening if you're feeling peckish.

Maybe also try drinking a glass of water before you eat the apple/peanut butter. Then see if you still want it?

Of course that suggestion may force you to be up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom

Here's what I do: eat one slice (95 calories) of rye bread with caraway seeds, and sip it with a few ounces of Crystal Light orange.

Why go to bed hungry? Don't torture yourself. Ok, rye bread is "good carbs," and even good carbs metabolize into sugar...but one slice is so filling, and that snack isn't even 100 calories! You'll fall asleep with a nice, full, happy feeling.

I stick to eating protein only at night before bed....and also drink a ton of liquids to help fill me up a bit. Like Audrey said, chewing gum helps, but so does not sitting down watching TV!

There's absolutely nothing wrong with eating at night assuming it's within your caloric limits.
