Favorite Protein Bars???

I would have put favorite bars, but then I would have heard about Stuckey's Gin Joint on 3rd and Main.

I know this is a personal taste thing, but I wanted to get some expert advice just in case I am missing something. I have tried the following, from order best to worst:

1. South Beach Diet Peanut Butter Granola (yummy, can be eaten slow, doesn't leave a bad aftertaste)
2. Slimfast Peanut Butter Granola (yummy, can be eaten slow, doesn't leave a bad aftertaste, but seems to be a smaller bar for the same calories and protein)
3. Slimfast Chocolate Granola (should be the same as the PB version, but it tastes "gritty" and doesn't really make me eager for a second bite.)
...
25. Met RX Chocolate Caramel (big package with a small actual bar inside, tough to bite, looks like a dog turd, long to chew, waxy aftertaste, and I have to finish off a box of these, since nobody else likes them.)

Which ones are the rest of you eating? Is there another thread on this that I have missed?

Re: Favorite Protein Bars???

Looking for the ideal low carb great tasting protein bar? It's in here!!

I use these. Maybe not THE best tasting, but still tastes very good and has to be one of, if not the healthiest bar on the market.

Thanks for the link! I will try one. I skipped it because the Snickers name led me to beleive it was high calorie. I know, judging a book by it's cover, etc.

Be careful because they have some that say low carb on them, and some that don't. The ones that don't say low carb are ladened with sugar. Also, they are substantially cheaper (usually) at places like Super Walmart than at a normal grocery store.

Low Carb can still be loaded with sugar alcohol, which avoids an insulin spike but still adds calories that need to be burned off. Sugar alcohol has ts own issues. Unless you managing insulin or are diabetic, regular sugar may be better for you than sugar alcohol. Having said that, my favorite brands are Pure Protein, Atkins (hi fat), and Isagenix.

Re: Favorite Protein Bars???

Try and avoid protein bars if you can, I would rather do whey protein and couple slices of whole wheat bread than that. Pre-mix and keep with you.
Just a thought,

Just a thought,
I admitted use bars and shakes. Shakes in the morning and after my workout. Bars are my emergency foods so to speak with all my traveling and my on the go lifestyle. I usually have 1-2 a day.
