Dunkin Donuts Trans Fat reduction by October 15th
You read it! Over 50 items on their menu (including cookies, doughnuts, croissants, and muffins) are going to be what they call "zero trans fat" which really means that they all have less than half a gram of trans fat, but still contain some trans fat.
The new oil they use is a cotton oil, palm oil and soybean oil mix.
Baskin Robbins plans to be 100% zero trans fat (i.e. under half a gram of trans fat per serving) starting New Years 2008.
However Dunkin Donuts assures everyone that THIS STILL IS NOT A HEALTHY DONUT, BUT A BETTER DONUT. Whatever.
Starbucks and Krispy Kreme claim to be following suit with their donuts and snacks in the near future.
