Talking Cocoa benefits on YouTube

Check out this:
YouTube - Xocai and the Healthy Chocolate Revolution

It's 99% excellent, using most of the video interviewing physicians and showing the health benefits of chocolate -- 'scuse me, cocoa. So that 99% is wonderful, accurate, and exciting to watch. At the very end, of course they're selling something...candy....and I'm going to back now and check it out. They say they combine UNsweetened (good), Non-alkalinized (good) cocoa with "the 2nd-highest antioxidant food, acai berry, to make these wonderful candies..."

WAITAMMINIT. It's true that acai berries are very high in antioxidants. But they're also hugely high in sugar (aha!), and only sugar, real sugar in any form (honey, agave, brown sugar etc.) can make the cookie or candy bar stiff. Also notice, at the very end, where they say their product is "Low in sugar, low in fat!" Low in sugar isn't good enough, and what's the fat??

So for best health, stick to pure unsweetened, non-alkalinized cocoa. Hershey's has one (the little brown box), and Trader Joes too. Other supermarkets are starting to carry unsweetened, non-alkalinized cocoas now that the health news is out...but they don't advertise them. See, they don't want to put their candy aisles and ready-made frostings etc. out of business.

Again, 99% of that YouTube video is correct, accurate, and exciting. More studies are still coming out. It's starting to look like cocoa can prevent everything from dry skin to Alzheimers, also help prevent heart disease, strokes, cancer, diabetes, complications of diabetes, impotence, aging in general...because of the huge effect cocoa has on the nitric oxide supply in the vascular system which supplies every organ, including the skin.

Cocoa is the bleeping fountain of youth!
