Attune Probiotic Bars

So I saw these probiotic bars at the grocery store yesterday next to the yogurt and picked up three of them to try them out. Supposedly they contain 5X the amount of probiotics than what is found in regular yogurt. Yesterday, I had the dark chocolate one and it was very tasty and only 80 calories. I also picked up two of the granola types, but they are significantly higher in calories, about 170 or so. This morning after my walk I had one of the granola ones (Wild Berry) and it was also just as tasty. the bottom half of the bar is coated in yogurt while the rest is a granola. Usually with bars like this the yogurt part is too sweet, but these weren't overly sweet like ones I've had in the past. So if you hate yogurt (I love yogurt but I just was curious about these) it would be a great alternative to get your probiotics for the day. The only bad thing I see is that they may be a little high in saturated fat (around 20% or 4 grams in the bar). I probably will just buy yogurt again the next time I go grocery shopping though because I love it so much.

Re: Attune Probiotic Bars

don't get me wroung, i eat yogurt, and like the taste, but the thought of eating probiotics make me think twice. after i read artical like this: one definition developed by World Health Organization and Food and Agriculture Organization of the Unitied Nation say-probiotics are live microorganism, which, when administered in adequate amounts confer a health benefit on the host (microoganisms are tiny living organisms-such as bacteria, viruses, and yeast-tht can be seen only under microscope) just the fact that there alive get to me.

Re: Attune Probiotic Bars

I'm glad I'm not alone in loving yogurt. Also relating to probiotics, I read somewhere that eventually, if you keep eating things like yogurt, the probiotic strains of bacteria eventually take over and you mostly have those in your gut instead of your body's natural flora. I don't remember if it's a good thing or a bad thing, but I think it's probably a good thing since the probiotic strains help to regulate your digestive tract. Anyone know the answer to this? In the meantime I'll try to answer my own question and Google.
