| Atkin's problems/Australia problems
Hey there all, I''m new here took one look around and loved it.
Thought this was the most apporpriate place to post my problem but please feel free to tell me if I'm mistaken.
I was scanning through the Atkin's diet recipes presented and found alot of them contained ingredients that I'd never seen or heard of before.
I assumed this was because the Atkin's brand doesn't extend to Australia, correct me if I'm wrong, and although I am desperately searching, can find no similar products in generic supermarkets (coles, safeway).
Is there any special supermarket or store in Australia that would stock low-carb items or sugar-free products?
Specifically the Melbourne area if possible?
Thanks in advance. <3

i dont know anything about shopping in Australia but what is it that you arent able to find? If you are going low carb you dont have to buy Atkins brand. Just eat alot more veggies but stay away from potatoes, peas, corn they are all high in starch/carbs. eat lean cuts of meat and if you do eat bread or pasta get whole grain.

@ Chrisydj
Thanks for the help, the peas where something I hadn't heard of before.
But products in recipes like soy protein isolate, guar gum, wheat gluten, and powdered egg whites are no where to be found in any supermarkets I've visited. Although I'm making a trip to the health store tomorrow as I've heard they might stock the powdered egg whites.
These aren't the real problem though. It's the sweet additives I'm looking for, custards and pudding mixes that are sugar free to bake with and just plain toppings and chocolate sugar free.
I have a little bit of a sweet tooth and can find no Australian equivelant.
