So I am in love with carbonated, sweetened drinks and I can only drink so much crystal light, I have tried to give up pop, but is diet pop that bad for you? What about sugar free fizz drinks, like with aspartance, are these bad to have while on a diet?
I am not big on juice or milk, so I am trying to stick to water and mix it up with crystal light water now and then, but any ideas on other drinks, I don't like shakes or smoothes really either.....

When I started I was completely addicted to diet soda. I know from past experiene they can hinder weight loss. I switched first to Crystal Light and then to water with lemon juice or lime juice in it. I hated water before but I became accustomed to it. Now, I have a diet drink now and again--maybe once a week. I wonder how it would taste if you used Crystal Light in carbonated water.

water is a bit issue for me also, i have never been a soda drinker ( lucky me ) but my vise is coffee..with suger and milk! lol just as bad i am sure! crystal light has been about my only way to get water into my body with out gaging on tab water or throwing my money away on bottle. I did try taking a gallon jug of water and cutting up an orange into it. It was not to bad, if you drank it with in like two days from the fridge. I would also like to know what others do to trick them selfs into getting there water! I am failing at this miserably. i end up only drinking coffee all day. I can only imagine how dehydrated my body actualy is!
god bless! kristie

I have coffee, but only add a bit of skim milk to it and that's it. Also look at South Beach Diet's water flavorings. They actually help suppress appetite and contain fiber and protein, and taste pretty good!
I flat out just pound water. I find when it's cold with crushed ice I drink more of it. Don't forget, you need to drink a cup of water just to even out the dehydration from a cup of coffee.

Carbonated anything isn't the best for you, especially for women since it strips the calcium off bones.
Diet pop and other drinks that use sweeteners may taste good, however some have been linked to other diseases in tests of animals, and it's been proven that sweeteners tend to increase your cravings for real sweets.
So while diet soda/drinks with sweetners are better for you caloriewise than sugar, they can make you crave more sweet things after the fact. I say as long as you can control those sweet cravings, then some diet drinks once in a while aren't a bad thing.
