I am looking for a 2700 calorie diet. Not great detail but a general one that tells me how many servings of things not one with menus

Can anyone point me in the direction of one?

How many proteins, carbs, fats kind of thing

Re: 2700 calories

I always suggest CRON-O-Meter, which is a free downloadable program that shows you the RDAs of all your nutrients based on your weight, gender, and age, plus you can make adjustments for specific goals. You can get it here:

CRON-O-Meter

It's the only thing I've been using and I like it SO much better than tracking online because it's faster than logging in to a website. I tried a couple of online diet trackers but I don't like the adds.

Just curious, why are you interested in a 2700 calorie "diet?" The amount of protein/carbs/fats will depend on what your goals are. Are you looking to build muscle? Are you looking to lose fat, etc?

Re: 2700 calories

Lose weight and strength actually but weight loss first. And 2700 because of what I have researched so far that is what appears to be the number of calories I should be at to lose weight.

For example the last diet I was put on, and this is from memory so it could be off a bit was around 2600 to 2700 calories I think

6 carbs a day
4 proteins
etc etc etc

However since then I see that things have changed a bit so it could be different now. I have found a lot of diets (in detail with menus) for gaining strength and to be honest I don’t want the detail since I have no time to go around making up specific meals and shopping at stores other than what I normally shop at to make up a special diet. And to be honest I do not think that is all that practical either. If I can’t maintain something I will not do it so I need to find something I can maintain.

My MD has his program, which worked great for him and his family but it is special meals you purchase and when it is done you have to learn to eat properly again or you get right back on the treadmill of this special meal plan. And although I have no doubt it is healthy and a good plan I it does not, IMO, teach proper dietary habits and that is what I need and I need that at a minimum of cost and minimum of effort. I am willing to and I have no problem with going to the local grocery store and reading labels and shopping for healthier choices and dealing with more appropriate portion sizes. But I do have a problem with having to go to the local health food store which is way out of the way and paying premium.

I am also checking to see if my insurance will cover a visit to a nutritionist

Re: 2700 calories

Well, if you're looking to eat 2700 calories, and build strength, I'd suggest:

250g protein
130g fat
130g carbs......

I know that's a lot of protein for someone who isn't used to eating that much, so you may want to work your way up by starting at something like:

200g protein
145g fat
145g carbs

Hope this helps!

Just curious, how much exercise do you plan on doing? 2700 calories is a good amount of calories for someone looking lose weight.

Re: 2700 calories

Exercise

Well of course I’m going to exercise….. I will be doing heavy duty aerobic napping followed by 3 yard refrigerator sprints and for strength 12 ounce curls

Now seriously folks

The amount of calories in the diet could decrease and in fact they already have to 2600. I found the page I linked above and it is helping a lot.

As for exercise, at the moment, it is rather limited due to the knee. If I start this too soon I will be in a world of hurt, literally. First my knee and second form the beating I will get from my doctor. For now it will only be seated weight lifting and some core stuff.

In spring, assuming I don’t due anything stupid and injure myself …again…. I will start cycling; I have 2 bikes after all so I might as well start using them. Weight training for strength; I did a lot of that in my misspent youth and I have read an awful lot of that and I know some about it so I will start it up again. However in my misspent youth it was not so much for strength but to be honest I really don’t give a whip about definition, buff or ripped so now it is for strength and I was doing that briefly a few years back. I will be rereading a few books and then setting up a routine. It will be for strength so it will be low reps and heavy weight and not so many exercises. Also I have a bit of Yoga training so I will get back into that as well. And I also “FINALLY” found a gym that trains real live boxing and I will be starting there late spring early summer.

As for the diet, thank you, but that is way too much meat for me per a Traditional Chinese Medical doctor I went to see and an unassociated Ayurveda person I went to see. They both said I was getting sick so much because I ate too much meat so I cut down and low and behold I do not get sick as much.

And this one has nothing to do with anything I am typing I just wanted to make a political statement
