Principals do not want to monitor weight

School principals do not see why they should be held responsible for monitoring the weight of students.
With worries about the number of overweight children growing, a dietician is suggesting children should be weighed and measured as a precaution against obesity.
But the schools do not want a bar of it.
Principals Federation president Pat Newman says schools are already expected to go beyond the call of duty for students.
He says with all the extra responsibilities schools are taking on, they may as well put in bunks and take children on from the day they are born until they turn 18.
Pat Newman says it is up to the health system to tackle the problem of childhood obesity.
