I absolutely do. There's no doubt in my mind. Since I agree, do you need other factors?

i think there is a link and i do because the ads appeal to kids in a way to make them think that candy will make them happy. not to mention the ads are places exactly where these kids are going to see them between cartoons and whatnot

P.S IF YOU HAVE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION YOU COULD GIVE SURROUNDING THIS TOPIC- FEEL FREE EXPRESS YOUR VIEWS .gif) | I definitely think that junk food often causes child's obesity. There are all these fast food restaurants in the country and many kinds often hang out there with their friends. In my opinion parents should care more about the food their kinds are having. They should cook a fresh meal each day and show them that healthy food could be tasty as well and tell them about the consequences of fast food.

I believe there are a lot of factors that cause childhood obesity. Junk food and the tv for sure but its more then that.
We are in an age where both parents work and have to work hard. That means easy quick meals ( most of which are very high in carbs and fat ).
Also Video games and the internet. Kids dont get out and play like they did when I was a kid or when my kids where small. Not a lot of parents think to set time limits and to kick the kids out side to play. The kids arent taken to the park or the baseball field or roller skating ect. Alot of it is because the parents just dont have time. Some of it comes from its easier to let the kids do what they want then to incourage them to get into physical activitys.
Just my 2 cents. Not based of anything other then what I have seen.

First, there are the advertisements that make the kids want to eat junk food. Minor problem. Second, there are the parents that buy the junk food and don't really care what their children eat. Big problem.

It also doesn't help that the schools for years would offer junk food to any kid who had money to pay for it. I used to buy so much garbage from school snack bars as a kid. Looking back I can't believe I didn't put on more weight than I did.
