Shocking Statistics on Childhood Obesity Nationwide

This research article shows some alarming statistics related to incresed number of obese children and adolescents. It has tables and graphs that help to see the growing epidemic among younger generation. In my opinion this should be a target population to intervene with new methods to fight obesity. While the child is still growing and developing we have higher chances of preventing or reversing obesity. It's a lot harder to eliminate effects of obesity later in life due to further comlications onmetabolism, heart, and body image.

Re: Shocking Statistics on Childhood Obesity Nationwide

I agree with what you say, but I also think another reason it's harder to eliminate obesity later in life is that it's easier to break a child out of her habits than an adult.

Re: Shocking Statistics on Childhood Obesity Nationwide

It never ceases to amaze me how bad childhood obesity has gotten recently. All the childhood obesity statistics are very depressing. We really need to invest more money and time into this issue before it gets worse.
