Boston (eCanadaNow) - Almost one in every four of kids between the grades of eight and twelve in Washington are overweight or obese.
The findings came from the University of Washington and stated that most of the overweight kids will have weight problems as adults as well.
Dr. Ben Danielson stated that its “very startling.” He fears people will soon assume that blood pressure and diabetes will take place because of their weight and not try to prevent.
“It’s almost like we’re creating a new norm,” he said. “We can’t let ourselves get numb to this.”
Adults who make less than $15,000 a year are of the highest who are obese at 29 percent.
Weight problems in counties in Washington are not any better as 21 percent of 8th graders, 22 percent of 12th graders, as well as other grades are overweight or obese.
