| How my weight loss is going.
So after a full month I thought I would share how i'm doing with all of you and get some more motivation. When I first started I was 271 pounds with 31% Body Fat. Then after a week of lifting I was at 280 pounds. Since then I have been trying to eat right, and run when its not cold as balls. I have been sick for the past week and haven't lifted at all. Here are some pictures from mid January, then first of February. And finally now.
Here is January

It looks like your shoulders are more defined and you've lost some weight on your chest/stomach so far. I think you are definitely on the right track. Remember, diet is half of the battle! The weight lifting will start to show it's benefits moreso over time. As long as you are consuming less calories than you are intaking you should continue to lose weight. Since you are lifting and adding muscle, don't just use the scale as your only guide, use pictures, measurements, and ideally a hydrostatic body fat tester.
Don't let weather keep you from your goals! At least it should be warming up soon!

Losing weight is a dedicated process and you need to steamroll over any obsticle that gets in your way. Be strong, and stay disciplined with your eating and exercise and everyting will happen just the way you want it to! I agree that I can see a few changes as well! The first few weeks people usually don't lose any weight at all, so don't be disappointed if your results are not massive after the first few weeks. Keep pushing yourself; there are so many benefits that await you!

I don't have any pictures for April. The last week I pretty much did nothing and eat everything. I gained 10 pounds and have no motivation. I'm getting back on it today. I'll lose it again, just frustrating you know?

It's so much easier to get motivated when you have a partner and you two can push one another. I keep a log of my activities, so when I take a few steps backwards, I have to keep looking at it over and over again because it's written down in stone so to speak. It's good to keep reminding yourself of what you don't want to be and where you would like to be. Some people keep their worst pictures on the fridge, some put a scale next to the fridge or out in the open where you walk by it frequently. I even set an alarm reminder on my blackberry to go to the gym.
There's another good thread in here with a ton of good motivation tips....I'll see if I can find it.
Regardless, I know you can do it, everyone has their ups and downs, but as long as you have more ups than downs you'll get where you want to be!

And he works late anyways. When our scheduals don't conflict we lift together. Good idea about the pictures on the fridge!!!

Here's some simple guidelines:
Don't buy ready to eat or processed foods - this way you can't binge easily.
Keep some bonesless skinless chicken breasts, some oatmeal, skim milk, various veggies and fruits around and some rice and whole wheat bread and nothing else. Don't make it easy to sit down and munch. Don't buy food from ANY fast food restaurant anymore. Bring your lunch with you!!!

I frequently do this myself, I ONLY buy the things I need (just the healthy stuff), so that way I too have no snacks around the house.
FBJ69, don't get discourged, everyone has their ups and downs. Don't feel sorry for yourself and go make up for your mistakes! You owe it to yourself.

My arms don't feel as tight. And I can see the fat starting to come back. I'm going to try and lift at night after school but its going to be a tough balance with everything.
I think the hardest part has been eating right. With the stress of work and school. Eating out takes so much stress off me instead of me having to cook. Thanks for the support guys. Nice to know the encouragement is out there.

Maybe start preparing meals/snacks at home to take to school with you? Protein bars? Something healthy to bring with you so that you don't have to eat fast food, or if you do, you can eat less of it. What about places like Subway that aren't as bad? Fast food places do make chicken breast sandwiches and salads too

That could take a lot of stress off the cooking part for you.
