Go get the Orowheat or Arnolds (they are the same thing, depending on where you live) Sandwich Thins. 100 calories and loaded w/fiber. I use that as my bread. They are thin but have a GREAT FLAVOR. I also buy the Thomas Brand 100 cal Eng. Muffins. I love Eng muffins.
My husband could live on bread, butter and cheese if I let him. But I have been buying these two things and he really likes them, especially the Sand. Thins. Thank goodness Costco carries them now! And they freeze really well.
One thing I do when it comes to fresh veggies, I get a large baggie and fill it with them all ready to go, cut up or whatever. Get some fat fee sour cream and some ranch dip mix. It's a great snack.

Have you seen a doctor? Might be a good idea to get a sense of what you are looking at health wise. As fruit is good, it has alot of sugars. I personally have to be careful and eat in moderation or less. Good luck on your journey. You are on the right path by recognizing your issues.

No, a physician. Get some blood work done. Make sure your cholesterol, glucose, ect are on track. I did, and that sure helped me figure out how to begin working better at what I needed to do. But I also found out I was just over the edge and diabetic.

s, be careful about avoiding starches. you may find that avoiding them entirely for one day might seem easy, but then the next day you might find yourself sooooo hungry that you over-indulge in them. It sort of sounds like you're going on the atkin's diet, which is ok if your cholesterol is ok, but be careful. (I'm just speaking from personal experience here): I tried going on the atkin's diet and after 1 day of it I woke up puking...I guess it was too much fat for me or something.
I'm not scolding you here, I just want you to be careful. Good luck with your dieting!

Its super duper yummy and will definatly hold you over till dinner time.
add a glass of non fat milk to top it off..
I dont really eat bread ever And im perfectly fine..but when I do I have the sandwhich wheat thins or Whole wheat bread... or you can even buy whole wheat dinner rolls to bake in the grocery store and they are Yummy too...

Congratulations! It really is one minute, one hour, one day, one bite at a time. Celebrate your victories! I second seeing your regular doctor if you haven't already. Ask him/her what eating plan he would recommend for you and definitely ask him about carbs. Not all carbs are bad, in fact, many will actually help you lose weight!
Post your statistics and let's watch our burgers move down together. I am also sick of being obese!

It will be so nice to be enjoying the fun and not standing on the sidelines holding all the junk while others go w/o me.

(((((sickofbeinobese))))) You are not alone and you can do this! Just read through some of the other member's blogs. It's absolutely amazing some of the success stories that are here and the stories are so inspiring to read. We're all in the same boat, and I personally can sympathize with what you're going through. I have also missed out on doing things because I was too embarrassed to be seen and have to try to justify my size. So what did I do? I stayed home and ate. Yeah, that was real productive! Sorry, some sarcasm slipped through!
You had a good day yesterday and hopefully, you're having a good day today! Remember this takes time and babysteps. You CAN do this and so can I!

after my 1st full day of no bread, cakes, candy bars, etc,i sure feel better.the whole time i was ingesting those thousands upon thousands of calories( really have no idea how many..uh,well i have an idea but it is so illogical i cant wrap my mind around it) i knew exactly what i was doing but would tell myself a big fat lie=denial...wynona judd uses the term"comfort foods" in her book a lot and i can relate to that.....why do some people deal with their crap and go on about their bidness, while people like me try to kill themselves?....as a kid i was asthmatic and the skinniest guy in school. what happened?..if i have certain foods in the house i will eat it til i think i;m gonna bust..being that out of control is scary.....talkin ab out all that stuff made me hungry. lets go eat some pork chops!..hehehe
