| From here to my goal
This is an after surgery pic. And now I am down to the last 30 lbs I want to lose. So I thought I would start a new blog.
I will upload some of my other pics for the ones that want to go see them.
I started this a long time ago a little over 7 years ago. When I started I thought a RNY surgery would be easy to lose weight and keep it off. So I fell into the pattern that many of us do. I lost a lot and gained back a lot.
About a year and a half ago I desided that it was time to change all of this and set out to do just that. And through trial and error I have found that in the large picture you cant look at this as dieting. You have to make a permanent change that has to last a life time. Since then I have made great strides towards a much healthier future for myself. At this point I was some where around 330lbs not my top weight by far but still way to much of an unhealthy weight. Today I weighted in at 206lbs so I am now on the last leg of my weight loss journey.
Because of health issuses its taken me longer to lose then some. I cant exersize with weights or do cardio. But I can walk and I can still move so I walk and move as much as I can depending on the day. And after lots of complications and infecions I am now ready to start again. So Today is the first day of the last leg of my long time journey.
I am glad to be back at the boards I have missed everyone and I am looking forward to meeting the memebers that have joined in the 3 months I have been away.

Thanks Mike! And your so right about that surgery is not the answer. The answer is all about lifestyle changes and healthy eating habits. There has to be mental changes as well.
Its good to be back

I have been apposed to surgery but every doctor I see tries talking me in to it but I have concluded that I got myself in to this mess and I will get myself out. Good Job on your weightloss, I was in the health club business for a long time and I remember how exciting it was to see people make huge changes in their lives.

Hi bigdaddy thanks.
I sure hear you on the gym stuff lol. I went to curves for few months before the doctor made me stop going. I was doing more damage then good. Now that we have moved to town I am going to be seeing about getting a membership to the community center and go swimming a few times a week but I have to wait for this latest incision to completely close and heal before I can do that.
The new house helps also the laundry machines are in the basement so thats a million trips a week to keep up with the laundry lol. As soon as the rest of the snow melts and it gets just a bit warmer I can start walking again. Winter is such a drag around here. ( The upper pin of Mi ) Right now it gets into the high 30's during the day and single digits at night which makes for bad walking conditions because of melting snow that freezes into ice everynight. Oh well that is what spring is like for us.
Good luck on your on goals!

| Re: From here to my goal Thats right where its at for me, As soon as my incision is all the way healed and closed I am hitting the pool. Now that we live in town it will be a lot easier. I am only a couple miles from the civic center now. Before it was at least a 50 mile round trip.
I know from physical therapy they have water arobics classes and I am checking into those as well. Any exersize I do will either have to be walking or in the water. I have RA and my joints cant handle regular exersizing. I also picked up a book on Yoga and Pilates and after I get through reading them I am going to talk to the doc about doing some of those at home.

I was at walmart and I always check out the clearance rack for clothes these days. I just found a pretty dress for 3 bucks and thats not even the best part. The best part is its a 16/18
When I started losing weight 30/32 where getting to small and where tight and uncomfortable. And to be able to remember that and now know I dont even have to look in the " fat lady" section for clothes anymore is like the best feeling in the world!
