I've lost another pound! (swear it's down the sofa somewhere!).
I'm a bit tired of walking to work these days and have started to jog to work instead. It's tough and have to change clothes when I get into work, but I am enjoying it (if exercise is something that you enjoy!).
I have tried a few of the recipes for jacket potatoes and am scouring the internet for low fat recipes. I do love my food and can't stand the thought of eating boiled potatoes and just fish or another meat as it seems dull. I suppose that's one of the reasons that why diets put me off in the past as the food that you have to eat is so boring!
It's Josh's birthday soon, so as well as having to deal with the chaos of kids parties, I was thinking of getting him a Nintendo Wii as I'll be able to use it then. I went to a friend's house last week, and she had one and I've become quite addicted to it. Felt like I'd done a work out, just by playing Sports Resort.
It's all going well, we'll just have to see what next week has in store.
Thanks for all your help guys and I hope that you are all doing well.
J

I envy you the energy to be able to jog to work! I wouldn't be able to do that - even if I was fit enough! Congrats!
I'm not a foodie either...for the most part I'm okay with eating the same-old from day to day. But I do appreciate something different now and again...good luck finding those tasty low-cal recipes!
BTW...do you have a goal weight? I was just checking out your burger....

Thanks for the message Rue,
I say jog, it's more plodding at the moment, all though it is faster than walking.
I want to get down to 150lb, but get the feeling that I've buggered up the calculation as I've just checked my burger and put my weight goal where the goal date is. D'oh!
I envy you though as I wish that I could eat the same thing every day. I remember my Mum eating a fruit salad and a cuppa soup every day and I just can't do that. When I find any low calorie recipes, then I'll put them up.
Hope your weight loss is going well.
J

Thanks!
I never jogged much, even when I was younger. But I love going for long brisk walks - so I'm working up to that again, as much as my arthritis will allow (doing better than I anticpated, so I'm happy!). I will do a walk-jog though when I feel like it. Walk a few steps, jog a few steps, repeat. A compromise that is a bit of a harder work out...
I'm a bit of a plodder with my weight loss too...wish I could watch the weight go down .2 lbs a day, but it's not that cooperative. Not complaining though...I understand that a slow steady loss is likely better overall than a quick loss - and I'm also hoping my skin keeps 'shrinking' as I do - and that doesn't always happen as nicely with a quick loss.
Your weight/goals are pretty much exactly the same as mine! Cool!

I want to lose weight because I want to live the rest of my life with quality. I see very little quality ahead of me if I continue to live life as an obese person. It's my choice. I can stuff my face with food or I can stuff my life with living. |

very good start indeed. keep it up if it is working for you. for some people is hard to eat the same thing everyday since they find it repetitive. i for one know this feeling because i have been eating the same thing for almost 1 year now lool. at first it was hard but i stuck with it. now is like a regular routine just like brushing teeth and showering. there is times your going to get pushed out side your comfort level but keep fighting back because this is the true moment where you know what your made up of and can achieve. if you don't back down and just plow forward your already better off than other folks.
