I do about 1 1/2 miles a day. Sometimes more. Like this weekend.
I just want to make sure that doing this will help me lose weight or do I need to focus on other stuff and do more.

I also do crunches and such at home. But boy would I like to see a toned body in the mirror instead of a "round" one.
Fast walking is a great start...but how fast are we talking here? My mother lost probably 75lbs doing nothing else differently other than starting a racewalking (powerwalking) regimen with a friend of hers.

If you haven't been exercising much in the past, this could be a good starting point for you. Will you burn as many calories as you would if you hit a stairclimber, elliptical machine, or fast paced treadmill? No.
