Standard 1 g fish oil cap will typically contain
180 mg EPA
120 mg DHA
I take 6 of them.
Nowhere near 6 grams of EPA and/or DHA.
And to be honest, there is literally a TON of research out there on the subject, but nothing is conclusive. |
I was surprised that you did not mention anything about DHA/EPA. I think I'm used to you being so super thorough with all the great info you provide. You're spoiling us.
I've read over the years that fish oil can cause elevations in blood sugar and LDL cholesterol in some people....and that Vitamin E seems to combat the blood sugar issue while Pectin or garlic does the same for the LDL cholesterol fluxes. I've seen nothing but good news regarding strokes and fish oils....and there seem to be a ton of other benefits as well.
.....and I do believe they thin the blood and should not be taken in conjunction with blood thinners
