Cathy, Big Medicine is on TLC (you need cable TV). The link William posted will take you to a thread that talks a bit about the show and what time it's on.
Welcome to the site! There are a lot of steps needed to qualify for obesity surgery. I believe jblack recently posted what he went through in one of this threads.
