I'm actually doing research paper on childhood obesity and noticed that some published resources reveal that parents believe their children will grow out of the overweight state. They call it "baby fat" or cute "chubby cheeks." Don't get me wrong, fat is essential for the body to function. It's the main source of energy and food for the brain. For babies being fat is good, but as they grow the storage of nutrients go into newly formed tissues. Parents need to be more familiar with BMI ratios, height and weight, and healthy averages for the age of a child.
