Since obesity leads to so many health issues, every possible avenue should be studied in depth to help stem the tide. I do know personally that genetics plays a key role in pre-disposition to obesity. My father was thin, my mother, heavy. My sister has always been thin, and I have always had a weight problem. I married someone thin, and my three children are thin.(lucky them) I would like an emphasis on genetic studies relating to obesity to see if we can't turn off the genes that cause the pre-disposition to obesity. We could save future generations from going through the problems that many of us have experienced relating to being overweight.
