along with a diet high in carbs and sugar. he probably drinks a gallon in 2 days...
having said that, over the past 6 or so years, i have watched him go from husky to obese.... he's 5'6" and weighs 200.
while over the same time frame, i have watched him develop asthsma and skin itching problems to a higher and higher degree.
i'm unable to convince my wife, who does all the grocery shopping cuz i'm at work, that his diet might be the source of his health problems. she likes to just pump antihistimines down him and supress the problem. all of her faith is in doctors - who have failed to get to the root of my kids problems.
me thinks it's diet - and it makes sense that having too much milk (and sugar) plays a major role.... i just don't have any hard proof. |
Well here's the problem my son is 13, 5'9" and 195lbs or so. He drinks around 1 gallon of skim milk a day and eats a decent split of carbs/protein/fat most of the time. He also wrestles 10 months out of the year and on average works out at least 1.5 hours a day through the week.
You'd guess he is fat but he's not...
I've attached some pics - he's in blue in these photo's. They're action shots so a bit blurry but you can get the idea of his muscles compared to the 220lb 14 year old he's wrestling (and beating...

)
I have to link to the photo's as I couldn't upload them.
