| Re: vertical sleeve surgery I understand all or your issues and still think we can help you make a difference. You're going to limit your calories by shrinking your stomach but you can limit your calories yourself. Eventually you will re-stretch your stomach or eat such high calorie foods that you'll gain anyhow. A co-worker filled in for me for a week at the place I'm contracted to while I was on vacation last year. He had gastric bypass 3 years ago and lost over 200lbs but has gained it back. While he was filling in for me I was told that he brought in a 2lb back of M&M's every day and ate the entire thing during an 8 hour shift, that's over 4400 calories a day by nibbling on that 2lb bag EVERY DAY!!!
It takes about 10 minutes a day for me to log my food and evaluate my intake. After awhile I have a standard menu rotation I do so I don't have to count for those days, I know what I'm eating nutritionally.
If you won't do the work to count calories and to get up and do SOMETHING physical daily for a couple of hours then in the long run it's your funeral, the surgery won't delay that but unfortunately speed it up. NOTHING is worse for your body than a massive weight drop and then massive weight gain. If you're in pain sitting on the couch then you won't be in any more pain walking, dancing or just doing something.
We're here to help and support you in your endeavors to lose weight for the long term, to change your habits and to learn!
