My 5-year-old nephew was going with us. My daughter moved her car from behind mine and was getting my nephews booster seat from her car. My nephew was standing right next to her. I decided to actually drive half way down the block and check the mail while she was getting everything out of her car for my nephew. I looked all around me checked and saw my nephew next to my daughter, I started backing up, I backed up about a foot, and something told me to stop. Next thing I know my nephew was under the car. He saw me getting ready to leave and decided to stop the car. Why I stopped who knows but another 2-3 inches he would have been under the tires. Thank GOD, he only ended up with some road rash, a ride in an ambulance and a stuffed animal from the EMT. I walked to the mailbox. |
OMG!!!! That's incredible how you knew! Soooo lucky! I bet your heart was racing!

As far as why the car rolls while in gear, it should have some resistance but could be movable in 1or2. I can push my vette in gear in first as well.
Glad everything worked out ok with you catching the car! I'd imagine that got your heart rate up for the better part of an hour. |
Yep, CTS-V....it should be movable.....but there's really no resistance. That's the problem. Yeah, my heart rate was up for quite a while.
