Every bit helps, and the more the merrier for the most part....certain high intensity exercises burn more fat while burning less calories according to the machines.

Instead of just guessing how many calories you need from exercise to achieve your goals, which is difficult, what I can tell you is that in order to achieve your 50lb weight loss, you need to create a calorie deficit (consuming fewer calories than your body burns on average).....and I can tell you how many calories a day you need to eat factoring in your exercise level in order to achieve your weight loss goals.......let me know.
