I am considering going to another doctor whom I hear is real good for treating depression and obesity.
Will let you know what goes on with that. |
I'd get a second opinion, and see a psychologist like bigdaddy said. HOWEVER, I do find that going out and doing things, being around people and exercise makes me feel less depressed.

So I prescribed exercise to myself and I use the motivation of the fact that things will be better when I'm a healthy and going on a date every night to motivate me to keep going. You might need something for depression to get you started though everyone is different. |
Well said.

Tomorrow is my anniversary marking one year from the day I started on the path to a quality life. I've lost the weight but what have I accomplished, the jury is out? If after 5 years I have not matured and kept the weight off what have I accomplished?
I've dedicated myself to seeing my grand daughter grow up. That all sounds great but this is an illness, an addiction caused by or the result of what we do not know. One thing we do know is obesity has reached epidemic proportions first among adults, then young adults and now teens. There is something systemically wrong with the way we live and eat which transcends age, race and gender. I wish you well, know that you are not alone, there many others suffering with the same problems. My suggestion is one day at a time, don't be afraid to reach out

Happy anniversary, and your reasons for changing your lifestyle are great.

Good for you, and what a great grandparent!

Bingo! If you want it bad enough you'll do what it takes to make it happen.

How long did it take you to feel any difference in your knees? |
10lbs is all it takes for me to feel a difference in my knees.

My back is killing me but I'm still going to the gym everyday because its the only way that I will make a change and become a sexy bitch |
I still think you're a sexy bitch

. I have pain in my shoulder, knee and toe but still force myself to exercise....no excuses. Ever.
