I'm going to set my new goal at 180lbs by November 1 2008. I realize this is going be a very difficult task if not an unattainable one. I'm pretty close to the wall and I'm in my 50's. I really want to loose the weight to save my joints and ligaments but I'm not sure I can scale the plateau without burnout or blowout. What if I get there, well that would mean a 32% lost in BM? Would 185 LBS be more realistic as a sustainable weight and provide a better quality of life in the long run? If I can not sustain and maintain the weight loss it's a defeat but 5lbs seems to be a cop out
All the best

Why is this unattainable? You can do anything you want if you put your mind to it. We'd need to know more about your height to determine whether that weight is good for you (185 vs. 180).
