| Re: depression and overeating I think Bigdaddy is probably onto something the first step is recognizing there is a problem. More importantly you have to want to take the step, the huge step of changing your life style. If you feel the need to change then look into your heart and find a reason to dedicate your life to living. It's as easy and difficult as that. Tomorrow is my anniversary marking one year from the day I started on the path to a quality life. I've lost the weight but what have I accomplished, the jury is out? If after 5 years I have not matured and kept the weight off what have I accomplished?
I've dedicated myself to seeing my grand daughter grow up. That all sounds great but this is an illness, an addiction caused by or the result of what we do not know. One thing we do know is obesity has reached epidemic proportions first among adults, then young adults and now teens. There is something systemically wrong with the way we live and eat which transcends age, race and gender. I wish you well, know that you are not alone, there many others suffering with the same problems. My suggestion is one day at a time, don't be afraid to reach out
Jimmy
