I have wrote a few articles and posted in several blogs and forums and I always say that to lose weight and get healthy you have to first get to the root cause of the problem. Ignorant people think that we are overweight because we want to be or because we just can't say no to food, but I say that there is a deeper issue that most obese people face, for you its just a matter of finding out what that issue is. If its depression than you need to get help for it, I had depression caused by sleep apnea, once I got diagnosed and was able to sleep I started exercising and getting healthier.
