Another incredible post Heidrun!

In reponse to some of your questions....we have quite a bit posted on how eating/dieting affects obesity in two different forums. The first is the "studies on how eating/dieting affectbs obesity' and the second is our Nutrition forum.

I completely agree that our biggest problems are portion size. I also think we eat out too much due to time constraints, and restaurants are so unhealthy (which people don't realize).

I think WLS should be a last resort when all else fails and you have given a true max effort at everything else.

My method to keep myself from eating junk food is by either envisioning a something gross, like thinking of a Snickers bar as block of fat. I also think about food in the form calories, and think to myself how many minutes I would have to do cardiovascular exercise in order to burn those off. For example I relate each beer I think about drinking to about 10 minutes on the treadmill the next day, and that works for me. I like your thinking though, I think we're on the same page.
