| Re: Teens weight my daughter is 12 yrs old and about 5'5 she weighs 142lbs she has always been on the thin side and still is except for her belly has a pooch and well she has a bootie I'm thinking the weight gain is from puberty and her getting her curves
my son is 14 and is about 5'6 and weighs um....160lbs he has always been on the chubby side lately he seems a bit thinner but that could be the mom in me not seeing things the way they really are.
I just want to be sure that my kids are as healthy as they can be. They are eating better now thanks to the changes I've made in the way we cook in our house and the fact that we dont keep the candies cookies or chips in the house anymore and they are limited to 1 2liter of soda a week and when it is gone it is gone and we've actually stopped the koolaide so mostly they just drink water and they dont complain about it. i think the only time they eat unhealthy is when they eat at school. they get pizza and hamburgers at school. i've thought about sending them to school with a lunch from home but since they get free lunches at school i'm thinking they will just dump the lunch i make them and eat at school. I'm trying to get them to go on daily walks with me when the weather permits. That way we all get exercise and we have some bonding time too, but it can be hard to get teens to do anything sometimes. They do get on my stationary bike a couple times a week though. I'm just hoping that I can teach them to be healthier now so they dont have to worry about it when they are older.
