Thinking you're eating right and eating right are generally two different things these days. You can learn to eat/cook right your whole family will benefit for their whole LONG lives.
1st you shouldn't have ANY white flour products, coke/diet coke/fruit juices etc in the cupboard or fridge. I suggest skim milk and water for drinks. Skip alcohol too for now, later you can reintroduce maybe 1 drink after everything is in control.
If you can watch more than 1 show a night you are watching too much TV, get up, get out and do something, anything! Turn on music and dance with your family, do familiy workouts, play family kick ball or tag or something. GET OUT THERE AND MOVE!
