oh i have been there and when you first start it is hard not to eat stuff you shouldnt. just a week or so after i started was my son's bday party and i didnt eat any cake during the party i bought a veggie tray so i would have somthing healthy but a couple days afterwards with still over half the cake left sitting home alone on my day off with nothing to do and that dang cake just staring at me i at a piece and then was made at myself for a week for it. but then i realized that it is ok to eat say a piece of cake or even some candy EVERY NOW AND THEN just as long as I dont do it all the time and I dont go over board with it. You'll be ok, if you really want to do this you'll get back on track plus you said you are starting to exercise so that will help too if you splurg a little on icecream or candy or whatever just work out an extra 30 min to an hour or whatever.
