| weightlifting to lose weight i have a weight loss bet for 1000 dollars. i am 5'10 and weight 265 pounds. i bet a guy i work with that i can get down to 200 pounds by december 31st 2008. so i have the rest of the year to lose 65 pounds. i started a weight training program about 5 weeks ago. Should i stick to all cardio for the year? if i keep lifting and put on muscle is it possible that i wont get under 200? i thought a combination of eliptical training and weight training would be a good idea but now several people are telling me maybe i shouldnt be lifting weights
