Children frequently missing meals: study

Children frequently missing meals: study
A new study has revealed some disturbing findings about what Australian children are eating.

The findings show many kids frequently miss meals.

It was one of the largest studies of its kind.

Researchers from the NSW Centre for Overweight and Obesity interviewed 5,500 primary and secondary school children about what they ate and drank.

They looked what effect their weight was having on their health.

They found almost one quarter of school children were overweight or obese.

They also found many of those children would often miss regular meals, including lunch and dinner.

The research authors say the results are concerning, as one in five secondary students in the study showed the first signs of health problems from being overweight.
